Jerome Grand Hotel announced via Facebook that its Asylum Restaurant has closed after a quarter century. It did not include details on why the Asylum shut down earlier this week, according to Michael Salerno in his report for the Arizona Republic. The former mining company hospital, built in 1926, was converted to a hotel in the 1990s.
