Before they locked me out of the building, she scolded me, "There is no 'hi', Sir!" "Are you listening?" Follow the process!" and "You can't record in here!" I can record in that taxpayer-funded migrant shelter because the people of Chicago have a right to know what's happening there and because that's what reporters - good ones - do! #thatreporter

Even the most worthy cause can become a victim of its own success. When a righteous cause becomes just another money-making enterprise, it ceases to be a force for good and often ends up becoming a force for evil.

Instead of putting criminals behind bars, Chicago is blaming car makers for the massive increase in vehicle thefts in the city. The problem is not that cars are too easy to steal, the problem is that people are stealing cars.

I love Washington, DC. It’s my hometown, where I’ve been able to rise out of poverty to comfortably raise a family. However, none of that matters if the streets are unsafe, affordable housing is sparse and schools fail our children. DC is trending in the wrong direction.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson's plan to hike city real estate taxes to raise $100M for migrants and the homeless is moving forward. But Johnson isn't planning to spend ANY of this money to reduce violent crime, to stop the out-of-control armed robbery surge, or help victims of crime. Maybe that's why he doesn't want me at his City Hall press conferences and why his lawyers - who want me to release all claims against Mayor Lightfoot and the City of Chicago - don't either. #thatreporter
