Happy Halloween from everyone at Cairo Durham Elementary!

Every Friday a class sings the Cairo Durham alma mater over the loudspeaker during morning announcements. Thanks to Mrs. Kuhn's class and 5th grade announcement helpers Rogan and Brayden for signing today!

Today CDE welcomed back our teachers and TAs as we prepare for the start of the 23-24 school year. Staff participated in various trainings geared towards student engagement and achievement.

Today pro BMX rider Mannie Nogueira performed for our students. He did amazing stunts, and spoke about following your dreams and never giving up. Big thank you to the PTA for organizing the assembly!

Students in Ms. Wilcox class put their phonics skills to the test as they read challenging words during a games based literacy activity.

CDE student council created and presented a beautiful piece of art honoring our local veterans to the county legislature yesterday. The artwork now proudly hangs in the lobby of the Greene County office building. Big thank you student council and all of our local veterans.

Alex in 4th grade earned time to play chess with Mr. Stein today. He's an amazing player and beat Mr. Stein twice! Way to go Alex!

In anticipation of St. Patrick's Day, many students have made very creative leprechaun traps that look amazing! Good luck catching that pesky trickster!

Ms. Choinsky led the 4th graders in a dissection of a cow eye. They learned about the parts of an eye and how it functions. #science

Last week students were recognized for displaying the traits Love and Humility and received positive referrals. Great job everyone! #positivityinaction

Today is school resource officer appreciation day, so big thank you to Deputy Espel the CDE SRO. You do so much for our students staff and families, and thank you for keeping us safe.

CDE student council sold Valentine's Day treats during lunch to raise money for the Animal Kind shelter in Hudson. Thanks for supporting our community and making a difference!

Happy 100th day of school! To celebrate Mrs. Rohan, Ms. Wilcox, and Mrs. Margiasso dressed up to look 100 years old.

Mr. Stein had a great time playing Jenga today with Riley, Noah, Lorenzo. The students earned a game with the principal with their mustang money!

Congratulations to our safety patrol students who received awards today. Thank you for helping keep our school safe.

Snow shoeing in the snow! Mr. Hagan’s PE classes are learning how to snow shoe and todays snow didn’t slow them down! Great job guys!

Students in Ms. Eskesen’s kindergarten class found author Mo Willems Pigeon! It was Ms. Eskesen!!!

4th graders in Mrs. Mooney’s class made ugly sweaters and wrote descriptive writing pieces about them. Very funny and creative!
