Let me tell you a story ... ... comfy? Let's go. On April 26th, 2016 allegations were made of sexual assault on a civilian female member of staff accusing a @hamiltonpolice Sergeant, called James Paterson, of a sexual assault. Police tried to cover it up, but the civilian records clerks were having non of it. The allegation was that whilst sleeping the present records clerk was awoken to a naked Paterson standing over her, his 'lad' in hand. He "grabbed her," whilst naked. Other reports stated he actually rubbed the aforementioned extremity in her face, but that's unproven and something Belchoir Arruda from the Hamilton Police Association strenuously denied. And I quote, "He did not rub his cock in her face!" The SIU conducted an investigation and Paterson's defense was "I thought it was someone else." Mistaken identity. "He reached out in the dark!" Didn't know who he was grabbing. The Union got behind that, senior management got behind that, and the SIU accepted this as a reasonable defense for stripping off at work and accosting a sleeping woman naked. 🤷‍♂️ "Yeah, but surely he was fired?" you all scream out. "Even if he didn't mean to do it, he's a uniformed on-duty officer try to get sexy time on-duty," you all yell. Oh no, this is Hamilton police were talking about. He got less than 40 hrs docked as punishment. And we know this because anymore than 40 HAS to be dealt with by police hearing. Then he got a plush Detective position in the wire room, listening in to your calls and reading your text messages. Where he would later allgedly be caught drunk off his face with another officer, on-duty again. But clothed this time. What? You don't believe me? Chief Justice Richard Wagner has refused to recuse himself from an Emergencies Act invocation case, despite previously making public comments about the situation. Canadians remember that TWO courts have already found the government’s use of the Emergencies Act to be unjustified and unconstitutional. When a judge has publicly weighed in against a case, reasonable Canadians will ask if this decision is truly impartial. Conservatives will continue to stand up for accountability and defend Canadians’ civil liberties because no government is above the law.

I once sued some for libel. The case was made. It went to trial. He could prove none of the things he wrote about me were true. During trial, something the defendants lawyer said to the Judge, “he’s also made allegations against another good friend of yours,” caused me to do research the following day. Turns out not only was the a Judge best friends with a friend of the defendant, she also knew the defendant. We can all agree this should’ve been disclosed and she should’ve recused herself. So I sent a letter the very next day, asking the judge to recuse herself. No response. A year later she found in the defendants favour. The finding was missing important facts, and would’ve easily been stuck down at appeal. Nobody told me. They “forgot.” I missed the 30 day appeal deadline. He was awarded costs, but I caught that and appealed that. The appeal on costs was never heard and sits in limbo. I don’t want to push it because I see how corrupt the system is. The defendant doesn’t want to push it because I’ll scream and shout to the divisional court how I was set up to fail, how the Judge should’ve recused herself, and show evidence of the same. The point of this story is … … the Judicial system in #Canada can simply ignore blatant facts that prove bias. There is no way to me to complain against that Judge or the court staff who “forgot” to tell me a decision had been handed down until day after I could legally appeal. There’s no oversight, and that’s by design. #onpoli #cdnpoli

Clayton Ruby was one of the lawyers I approached for assistance with my matter of the CJC claiming that judges could protect lawyers committing fraud on court orders by rejecting the transcript and preferring the voice of the plaintiff to protect her lawyer. He responded and said he is not taking on new clients at this time.
