Six men, including a pair of brothers, who groomed and committed "dreadful" sexual abuse against a vulnerable teenage girl have today been jailed at Bradford Crown Court. The men conducted their abuse in and around Halifax between 2006 and 2009 when the girl was between 13 and 15 years old. West Yorkshire Police launched a complex investigation after the victim spoke to officers in 2019. Mohammed Shehban (14 years), his brother Mohammed Adnan (4.5 years), Mohammed Adnan (4.5 years), Amazar Ali (10 years), Naveed Anjum (5.5 years), Imran Hussain (7 years), and Adal Manaf (8 years) were all imprisoned today.

The alleged grooming gang offending took place between August 2023 and May 2025. Seven men were arrested this week after six addresses were raided in Norwich and one in Dumbarton in Scotland. An eighth man was arrested by the Garda in Ireland this morning. Norfolk police said that none of the suspects charged have lived at asylum hotels in Norfolk and none of the offending in these offences happened in asylum hotels. The seven charged Afghan men, who all have 'refugee' immigration status, are: Ahmadin Ahmadzai, 20, of Pottergate, Norwich. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any other White Background’. He has been charged with nine counts of rape, two counts of conspiracy to rape, one count of facilitate human trafficking, one count of perverting the course of justice. He entered the country concealed on a lorry on 24 June 2020. Jamil Khalili, 20, of High Street, Dumbarton, Scotland. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any Other Mixed Background’. He is charged with seven counts of rape, one count of conspiracy to rape and one count of facilitate human trafficking. He entered the country via small boat on 23 March 2021. Fazal Auryakhel, 20, of Eleanor Road, Norwich. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Arab’. He is charged with one count of rape. He entered the country via small boat on 26 February 2022. Qais Kaker, 20, of Black Horse Opening, Norwich. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any Other Asian Background’. He is charged with four counts of rape, one count of conspiracy to rape and one count of facilitate human trafficking. He entered the country via small boat on 4 September 2022. Mohammed Farooq Shinwary, 20, of St Benedicts St, Norwich. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any other Asian background’. He is charged with two counts of rape. He entered the country via small boat on 28 May 2021. Ali Ahamad, 21, of Pelham Rd, Norwich. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any Other White Background’. He is charged with one count of rape, three counts of facilitate human trafficking. He attempted to enter the UK clandestinely via Portsmouth ferry port on 4 May 2021. Sayed Wahid Davodzai, 20, of St Benedicts St, Norwich. His self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any other Asian background’. He is charged with four counts of rape and one count of conspiracy to rape. He entered the country via small boat on 9 October 2022.

BREAKING @GBNEWS: Seven men, who are all Afghan nationals and refugees, have been charged with 40 offences after an investigation into an alleged grooming gang in Norwich. Five of the men arrived illegally in Britain by small boat; two by lorry. All of the men have been in the country for several years. One arrived illegally as early as 2020. The charges relate to two victims, who were in their early-to-mid teens at the time of the alleged offences.
