I have a new full-time job. Having been a freelance writer for @RAIL Magazine for just over a year, I’m delighted to have just become their Features Editor. I’ll be mostly based at home with some trips out, but today I’m at the home of Bauer in London for an induction.

After a 86 mile ride and 6500ft of climbing I made it to Geneva. In four days I have cycled 350 miles and climbed 16,000ft in aid of @TheBHF It’s been tough mentally and emotionally and I’ve realised I can be proud of what I’ve achieved.

MOT Exceptions - My MR2 is 40 on Friday (hooray) so now qualifies for not needing an MOT (whatever you think about that) Question: Now what? Do I fill in a form? Let it lapse naturally? Never done this before

@joncoupland 2/2 The Post Office do the process online, give you a receipt & send off your V5C to the DVLA. With a following wind, you should get a new V5C with your car classed as an “Historic Vehicle” in a couple of weeks. The process automatically taxes it for 12 months, even if it’s SORN.

@joncoupland 1/2 I’ve just registered my 84 Alfa GTV as historic. You take your V5C & proof of an existing MOT to a Post Office & tell them you want to change its class. There’s a list of upgrades/mods on the DVLA website that could exclude it but if it’s pretty standard, it should be OK.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Kris Kristofferson. For those of us of a certain age, & with an interest in cars & road movies, there's something else we'll always remember him for. My brother & I watched it so much we wore out the VHS recording we had of 'Convoy' #RubberDuck

It wasn't just our street cleaning teams that were out early this morning. Residents and volunteers were also out in force to show the true face of Hull ❤️ Thank you to everyone for your incredible support 👏
