It was heartening to hear that a permanent, secular, memorial will be built in Gunnersbury Park before next year’s event.

It is horrifying to have to memorialise them, and humbling to recognise their courage, compassion, and incredible sacrifice. We must hold all governments to account to do better.

I was honoured this evening to speak on behalf of @Humanists_UK at the Memorial Event for Humanitarian Aid Workers at Westminster Abbey. This past year has been the most deadly ever recorded for killings of individuals dedicated to helping those in the most dire of circumstances.

The assisted dying campaign is so important, and Lauren spoke wonderfully about her Dad. It is vital that we have the right to decide to end our lives if we are incurably suffering, if I can do it for my cats I should be able to choose a compassionate end for myself.

On the 10th anniversary of the Tony Nicklinson assisted dying Supreme Court case, we’re deeply moved to be hearing from his daughter Lauren and wife Jane about his life, his case, and his campaign. There’s not a dry eye in the room at @ConwayHall

If you've ever wondered what I do (as I do, reasonably regularly), here are two of my team in their other roles on the front line. All my wrangling in meetings turns into this, really wonderful, inclusive support for people when they need it 🥰

This video is a wonderful explanation of the importance and inclusivity of healthcare chaplaincy & pastoral care. Featuring two of our incredible practitioners, Paul Girling and @lindsayvandijk.

Apparently there are only 20 tickets left for this! If you like intellectual jousting, listening to me use my professional voice a lot, and spending a weekend with fascinating people then get in, loser, we're going to Cardiff!

Faith & belief should be a source of comfort and inspiration, but some people us it to control and abuse. Our sibling project offers training for professionals in how to support people who have been subjected to religious abuse. Book a space to find out more.

I've been working and volunteering with helplines for 22 years, I love them. They're vital so isolated people can find safety and support. At @Humanists_UK we've been asked about a @faith2faithless helpline for years, so we launched one today!
Humanists UK@Humanists_UK

We just launched the first UK-based dedicated helpline for people who have left high-control religions or cults. More info about the @faith2faithless helpline: 🆘📞💬⬇️ Support our work? Share this post. You could really help us reach someone in need. humanists.uk/2024/02/21/hum…
