It was heartening to hear that a permanent, secular, memorial will be built in Gunnersbury Park before next year’s event.

It is horrifying to have to memorialise them, and humbling to recognise their courage, compassion, and incredible sacrifice. We must hold all governments to account to do better.

I was honoured this evening to speak on behalf of @Humanists_UK at the Memorial Event for Humanitarian Aid Workers at Westminster Abbey. This past year has been the most deadly ever recorded for killings of individuals dedicated to helping those in the most dire of circumstances.

The assisted dying campaign is so important, and Lauren spoke wonderfully about her Dad. It is vital that we have the right to decide to end our lives if we are incurably suffering, if I can do it for my cats I should be able to choose a compassionate end for myself.

Engaging and interesting meeting with @MaeveSherlock yesterday. I love talking about how we can work together to make sure everyone's voices are heard and everyone's needs are met!

I've been working and volunteering with helplines for 22 years, I love them. They're vital so isolated people can find safety and support. At @Humanists_UK we've been asked about a @faith2faithless helpline for years, so we launched one today!
