I'm happy to finally release an early version of a little database, free for all to use in analysis. I've added all Chelsea 25/26 match reports so far for all competitions. I hope to add past seasons and more detailed stats too in the future. sites.google.com/view/the-data-…

Massively rooting for Liam Rosenior. Why? Because he is his own man with his own belief system and he does what he believes is right. That got him the Chelsea job where he has shown TOP potential. So what if nobodies don’t like it and vilify him?

This point cannot be emphasized enough. Premier League teams aren't "declining" - they're just playing a private version of the Champions League in their own country. I don't think the common fan understands the level of the league, and just how demanding it is.
Magic hat 🎩@themagic_tophat

Why do Premier League teams struggle in the UCL at this stage of the season vs teams like PSG, Barca, Madrid, Bayern? Fatigue. They have physical battles every week against top teams all season. Those others do not. Credit to @scottjwillis for the graph idea 🫶 ClubElo data

And he's spot on in such. Remove the emotion behind analysis and this becomes very clear. 6 goals from 6 shots, quite a few being low quality chances too. Of course it feels awful, but there isn't terribly much as a coach you can do in these situations.
Dom Smith@MrDomSmith

Rosenior says he would "have loved" to taken the Chelsea job during a pre-season but says coming in when he did has not made it impossible. Reason for defeats, he says, has "clearly not been tactics - it's been moments". #CFC

My latest piece on Chelsea right now: Are we worse than last season? 📊 Liam Rosenior? 🧑‍💼 Next season? 📅 Chelsea right now 🥴 @CFCAnalytic/the-curious-tale-of-chelsea-in-2026-why-have-fans-simply-given-up-8cb31cf678c5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@CFCAnalytic/t…

Shameful from such a high profile outlet. Shameful from many online. It’s embarrassing from a lot of people.

The entire rhetoric around his ‘performative’ nature and articles like this actually just expose how 90% of people on this app are not only insecure, but frankly quite nasty and ready to pile on people for stupid rhetorics.

The Athletic now joining in on Rosenior. To a level we’ve not seen before. Even Potters/Ange or Amorim banter stayed within certain boundaries, online fans, tabloids etc Rosenior doesn’t even escape what was once seen as a more reputable site.

Chelsea are behind Liam Rosenior and sympathise that he has come into a situation where the squad is said to be ‘knackered’ and has not had appropriate time to implement his ideas. Summer target lists are underway with all eventualities being considered, as Chelsea feel UCL qualification will likely come down to fine margins in May. There is no current suggestion that the model will be changed. Chelsea also feel that contract statues with many current stars wanting more money is further proof that it would not be wise to chase signings that would be looking for a high base salary. The club want players to be together as a team and earn their money. There is not an appetite to create an entitled and unhealthy culture and the cost to risk ratio is high. Directors are working within the financial restrictions and the model put in place by Behdad Egbhali. There may be an odd exception but generally this is what I’m told. The club are open to spending high transfer fee’s but not salaries straight away. 1/3…

Physically can’t comprehend the amount of real life people that didn’t think Liverpool and Barcelona would go through. Unfortunately, it may be time to stop engaging in any none analytical discussions.

English teams aren’t bad, they’ve been very good. Think it’s soft to say they’re bad especially when you consider both Newcastle and Chelsea were the better teams for big chunks of their ties.

This partly true but a lot comes down to fatigue. Newcastle and Chelsea lose in moments to elite players, as is the UCL, but theyre very good teams. City the same. Liverpool will go through to the next round and that’s it.
JJ@NewsJeffJ1

English teams have struggled in the UCL this year because most English teams are bad this season. Only good English side this year is ARS. It’s been reflected in the league all season, and the UCL will be no different.
