I’ve got down a bit of a Herbert Sutcliffe rabbit hole. I hadn’t realised, for example, that he didn’t make his Test debut until he was 29. He scored 4,555 runs in 54 Tests averaging 60.73 — the highest of any Englishman who made over 500 Test runs.
