The Celtic Trust has followed the CSA in calling for urgent change in the running of Celtic FC, and for Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay to resign.

You can read the full CSA statement here: thecsa.co.uk/csa-statement/ If the Club wishes to avoid a repeat of the disharmony and unrest that dominated much of last season, it must act swiftly to remove Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay before the situation deteriorates further.

In April, Brian Wilson rightly described the CSA as “a well-established and well-respected organisation which doesn’t raise issues lightly.” Today, the CSA, a founding member of the Collective, has issued a statement expressing serious concerns at the running of the Club.

A strong message has been sent by the support today, with one of the lowest attendances since Celtic Park reopened. Supporters have had enough of being treated as cash cows while our ambition for Celtic is not reflected in the boardroom. The time for change is long overdue.

We waited over six months for the CEO to speak publicly following the Wilfried Nancy debacle. When some form of communication finally arrived, it amounted to a staggering admission that he is unable to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. This cannot continue.

There is widespread concern across the support about the current leadership and direction of the Club. Our supporters have shown time and again that when we stand together, we are a formidable force. Celtic is worth fighting for - join us and help drive the change.

The new Collective structure will include representatives of independent supporters who are not aligned to any CSC or supporters’ group. This will ensure the voice of independent supporters is amplified, strengthening the campaign for positive change at Celtic FC.

Celtic FC will soon welcome mainstream media into our stadium that lied about our supporters and undermined our manager in May. Meanwhile, Celtic fan media remains banned. Even by this Board’s standards, that is unacceptable. We will continue to campaign for the ban to end.

A proposal outlining a new sustainable, democratic and transparent structure for the Celtic Fans Collective has now been sent to all existing members. We would kindly ask all signatories to review the proposal and respond by Sunday.

The Celtic board cannot be allowed to continue to flagrantly mislead supporters. They must be held to account, and we will continue to ensure that happens. When can supporters expect these commitments to be honoured? @celticfc @celticfcslo

Over recent days, we have highlighted a series of assurances given to Celtic fans by the Club. To date, none have materialised. Perhaps the most significant is the long-promised refresh of the Board, repeatedly referenced by the Chairman and most recently reaffirmed in April.

Two months ago, Brian Wilson confirmed the Club were on the verge of appointing a new Head of Fan Engagement. There has been no further update. Any new fan engagement model is worthless without consultation with supporters. When will Celtic speak to fans about their plans?
