@zerorain248687 Yep, I completely agree. A great squad, but as a collective, impossible to deal with. Chelsea no where near as difficult.

@CFCdruw No doubt - real madrid problems are far beyond any manager no matter what is his name

Real Madrid players have been in the media for a while now, where the discussions are about how toxic the locker room is and all of the egos that have to be dealt with.
Here’s proof that Xabi Alonso will command respect from the Chelsea dressing room, right away. We NEED this.

“NEW project”
This is the first summer where we’ve heard anything like that under the new regime. Whispers over the last few months about a change in strategy taking place and now it’s hitting main stream. Very interesting.

🚨 Chelsea believe their NEW project which starts this summer has to include Joao Pedro as crucial player, no intention to let him leave. (@FabrizioRomano)

Once Xabi Alonso is hired, the hierarchy can’t go halfway. We must give him our FULL backing and provide the tools + power to be successful. Let him establish the football he wants to play, as well as allowing him to have say in transfers. Allow him to CREATE the culture and identity in and around Cobham.
This isn’t just any Manager. This is a person with an illustrious playing career, winner of every trophy footballers dream of. Now, think about the success he’s found in his young managerial career.
Back him and we’ll all enjoy the benefits.

Regardless of what we think, this is going to be a fun summer for Chelsea. Another window full of departures and incomings. One day, we’ll have a quiet summer window because the squad is already taken care of. I can’t wait for that day. For now, hiring Xabi Alonso should be priority number one and then we focus on the squad, with the help of Xabi.
His profiling of players is elite and should be trusted. He’ll turn this Project around, if given the power.

Didier Drogba, Hazard, Lampard, Claude Makélélé. The list goes on, but Chelsea have a rich history of players that every single footballer has heard of and aspire to be.
We’re inevitable, which is easy to forget. We’ll always be in the same discussions as Madrid, Barca, etc.

🗣️ Yan Diomande: “Imagine people say you go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job, you’re going to be happy and motivated to do more.”

I’m just spitballing here and would also like to add: I’d rather see him playing for Chelsea.
However, the development of Josh Acheampong needs to be properly addressed and sorted this summer (should have been last summer if we knew he was going to feature less this season). When he’s made appearances this season, we’ve seen glimpses of what he’s capable of, as well as mistakes that I blame on lack of sharpness. Loaning him to RC Strasbourg next season is the best option, imo.
He’ll receive consistent minutes in a good League, where he can develop and grow in confidence. Andrey Santos, Mike Penders, Valentin Barco, Diego Moreira, Mamadou Sarr (yes, even him), are all examples of this working out for all parties involved.
Josh is an elite talent. Built in Cobham. He ABSOLUTELY has what it takes to have a successful career. Take care of him.

Every day, I grow more confident and less confident at the same time about Xabi Alonso joining Chelsea. Don’t ask me how this makes sense, because it doesn’t.
All signs point towards the ball being in our court:
- He’s open to the possibility
- He wants to work in England
- Liverpool are sticking with Slot
- He’s our preferred option
- Talks have been positive
However, then you think of past negotiations that have fell through. Granted, these aren’t exactly the same, but Osimhen and Olise quickly come to mind. This is why I find myself wary. I’m just excited for this situation to be resolved and then we focus on the summer.
