CFTennis’ Ben Smalley was the District Champion in Mason City today, def. Lief Lundberg (MC) 6-0, 6-0. Luke Berger was 3rd, def. Jackson Squier (MC) 6-1, 6-0, and Andre Fontana/Caleb Rumsey were 3rd in doubles def. Solberg-Maas/Beyer (MC) 7-5, 3-6 (11-9).

Congratulations to CFHS Senior, James Peng, on being named Youth of the District by the Exchange Club! James will represent the district to compete for National Youth of the Year. The national winner will be announced in early June, best of luck, James!

CFHS School Counselor, Carrie Dieken, joined former students at the U of I for a special lunch as part of her work on the UI Counselor Advisory Board. The turnout by the Tigers was incredible - by far the largest group!

Big news from Southdale's young writers! The 4th grade creative writing group entered the U of I Write Now Contest! 🏆 Aurora Riggs won the 3rd–4th grade category for her story “The Toxic Laundry Detergent” 👏 Sienna Hoffert earned an Honorable Mention for “Sudsy Space Odyssey”

Congrats to CFHS sophomore Helen Peng! Helen earned 1st at the American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Contest! S/O to her brother, James, CFHS senior, who was recognized for his achievements. Helen & James are pictured with Michael Lyons, American Legion Becker-Chapman Post 138.
