Mary Fowler on her ACL recovery: “Physically, I pretty much have the best staff I could ask for. They’ve been super supportive, the girls have been supportive.” “From a physcial stand point it’s been really good, I have nothing to complain about. Mentally, also good.” “I cried for the first two days and that was it. There is a lot more life to happen than just playing football games – that perspective helped me stay grateful for a lot of the blessings I have in my life and get in my rehab so I can get onto the pitch.”  [via David Weiner for Football 360 Australia]

The Knowledge Project

Writing is thinking. Not writing to communicate what you've already figured out but writing to discover what you actually understand and believe. Benedict Evans embodies this. He drafts his ideas, then interrogates them ruthlessly. And his test for whether something is worth publishing has evolved with the times. Now he asks: Could ChatGPT have written this? If yes, he kills it. Not because AI makes his work redundant, but because it means he hasn't pushed his thinking far enough. If ChatGPT could have written it, anybody would have. This is what we lose if we outsource our writing. The wandering thoughts that being written down suddenly crystallize into something meaningful. The moment you realize your argument has flaws. The struggle to find the right word that forces you to think one step deeper and clarify what you mean. Benedict learned this at Cambridge studying history. How to synthesize vast amounts of information, how to distinguish what something appears to mean from what it actually means, and how to find the next question hiding behind the obvious ones. The messy process of writing is where the insights happen.
