CGA research students, David and Sarah, have been working on mapping commemorative objects, like memorial plaques or structures, on W&M campus to document location, description, and condition to assist W&M Facilities and Risk Management in maintaining these items.

CGA research students Euan, Gillian, and Sara have been working with the National Center for State Courts on creating a public transportation network to assess courtroom acccessibility in California.

CGA research students, Thara and Logan, have been working closely with the City of Williamsburg to assist in locating and understanding fire hydrant range capabilities in the greater Williamsburg area.

CGA research student Justin has been working with to create a comprehensive and interactive map of LEED certified buildings on campus!

CGA research student Sierra has been working to georeference and digitize a historic land parcels from a 1798 Dutch map in Guyana to contribute to the research being done by Dr. Catie Peters at the Omohundro Institute.

Elizabeth is a CGA research student working on mapping bike racks on campus! Elizabeth has learned how to use FieldMaps and GPS to create surveys and collect data that Parking & Transportation can use to manage and maintain bike racks at W&M.

One of our Fellows Elizabeth Ott has received a full-time offer as the GIS & Technology Coordinator in Middlesex County, Virginia. We are excited to support her in the transition to this new role!

This academic year, CGA research student Leo has been working with Anthropology professor Sergio Palencia-Frener to create maps of plantations and villages in Guatemala for his upcoming book!

Lexy, one of the CGA research students, works with Swem's Interlibrary Loan data to map thousands of loans across the world!

This Friday!

CGA research students Dylan, Elizabeth, and Sebastion map the indigenous Kanela territory in northern Brazil, using satellite imagery to create features and map out the 485 square mile territory!

The final CGA Speaker Series will feature John Nelson! John will be demonstrating how to use blend modes, effects, and gumption to create Area of Interest visualization techniques! The event will take place on Friday, April 3rd at 1pm on Zoom. Register at tinyurl.com/john-nelson-cga
