It would be interesting to do a study to see how many patients have been killed by laryngoscope or intubation meds... The ones I have seen, everyone is like "oh they were really sick", "You did your best", "we tried", "we just had to manage the airway" or a pat on the back for trying hard. NO! This likely was a preventable death, we killed this patient. We need to quit tiptoeing around this and call it what it is. We spend a lot of time and money on intubation training and shiney new equipment... but we have created lots of intubators and very few airway managers!

Blown away by the logistics operation at Albuquerque Ambulance Service. Every ambulance cleaned and stocked by dedicated staff. Clinical staff can take their keys, grab a bag and monitor and be ready to roll. Upfront investment leads to huge savings in operational time.
