How much is your consultant study leave budget? We get £600/yr (£1800 per 3yrs which can be used in one go). This has been the same for about the last 28 years! £600 is barely enough for a single conference registration never mind travel and accommodation.

@Noahhhh93 It’s a tough one and everyone seems to do it differently. I stayed up as late as I could the night before starting and tried to not get up early. Then at the end of the run of nights I wouldn’t sleep until the usual time that evening

@AngusGrant_ @APMJuniors To think about the person in front of you. What are their wishes? What are their limits? Will this next test, or the frequency of current tests, change or add something to their care? Be less protocol driven

@DonnaWakefield_ I’m not i’m afraid. Need to finish a few things before any more conferences. Lots of lovely hidden spots in Barcelona, I’ve just traced countless streets looking for a place that had some of the best tapas/sangria I’ve ever had but I can’t find it for you 😭

@DonnaWakefield_ Oooh, if you’ve got time, a swim in the outdoor pool (Piscines Municipals de Montjuïc) is lovely with a great view. And if you then have a good bit of time for an excursion, Montserrat is a really nice place to visit

@iDrSunny I was under the impression MRCP(UK) was usable after passing the exams, it’s only if you became a member that you use MRCP(Edin) etc

Can I ask - why do people keep paying any MRCP fees? Once you have attained it you are still MRCP (xxxx year) - so why continue?

Looking to get some insight into any simulation style teaching days being run on palliative care scenarios. Would love to hear about any existing or planned sessions being run. DMs open as well

The vast majority of medical IPs are on VTE prophylaxis I don’t see patients ever told they will be getting daily injections by docs when they are admitted. It must be a surprise when the nurse comes round with an injection. Nurses must have to explain this to pts all the time?

@DonnaWakefield_ Tried the pomodoro technique? I had a good stretch writing at the beginning but then got busy with other things. Breaking up writing with more montonous tasks seemed to work well

First, Victoria Atkins says doctors strikes caused 1.3 million appointments to be cancelled. Dr Vivek Trivedi explains that 12 million appointments were cancelled when there was no strike action Then, Victoria Atkins says doctors walked away. Dr Vivek Trivedi explains they didn't This Conservative government wants you to hate doctors who want a pay rise from £15 an hour to £20 an hour.
