Ousmane Dembele is a bigger legend (Depends on how the standards are set) and a more complete footballer than Kylian Mbappe.
There is absolutely nothing Mbappé does on a football pitch that Dembélé can’t do.
The difference?
Mbappé sells individual brilliance.
Dembélé understands team football.
And the moment Dembélé had a fit season in a functioning team, he won everything Mbappé has spent years chasing.
I brought up Julián Álvarez in the conversation because of his World Cup story—he’s built a strong name there and at club level, where he’s been instrumental, even if that point is debatable. I accept that 👍
As for Ousmane Dembélé, he’s clearly shown growth, while Kylian Mbappé still leans toward individualism on the pitch. And remember, your ceiling and standards shape this discussion.
Take away the Ballon d’Oran individual award, and Dembélé arguably sits at a higher level than Mbappé.

It’s refreshing to see some Real Madrid fans becoming more critical of Kylian Mbappé as they start to notice his individualistic tendencies before, any criticism was usually met with negativity. Personally, I’ve always enjoyed him more with the France national team than at club level.
I think he needs to be more open to coaching, and perhaps he hasn’t yet had a manager who can truly connect with him and get him to fully buy in. Luis Enrique may have tried, but that doesn’t rule out another top coach being able to guide and refine his game.
I still believe that if Madrid appoint a manager capable of managing the egos of both Vinícius Júnior and Mbappé, they’ll become dominant again. Someone like Jürgen Klopp or José Mourinho could be exactly the kind of personality the club needs to get things back on track.
