State Route 108 at Rushing Hill Lookout is fully open again from the sand spill.

Large sand spill eastbound SR108 east of Rushing Hill Lookout. The number 2 lane is shut down, The number 1 lane is open. Caltrans on scene clearing the debris off the roadway. Please use caution when traveling through the area.

The Sonora Pass has opened to Kennedy Meadows. If you choose to travel east on State Route 108, please be prepared for potential change in the roadway conditions.

Motorcycle season is upon us. Motorcycle riders can be difficult to see, so double check your mirrors. If you ride a motorcycle, remember safety gear is cheaper than a hospital visit. DRIVE safe RIDE safe.

Starting tomorrow night through Thursday night, Caltrans will be having a partial road closure in place on SR 49 from Victoria Way to Bell Mooney Rd. The work is scheduled from 8:00pm to 6:00am. CHP will be on scene to ensure motorist are driving safely through the area.

Driving in these snow storms should be avoided if possible. If not, You ARE required to have chains with you (and use them) on roadways that are under chain control restrictions. Even if you have four wheel drive or All Wheel Drive you still need to have chains with you.

Please be sure to carry chains in your vehicle if you are traveling to higher elevations in Tuolumne County, including Yosemite National Park. There are reports of several spin outs which can be avoided by having traction devices. Please be prepared when traveling on the roads.

The rain and snow are back! Remember, if your windshield wipers are activated, your headlights should be as well. Also, the side of the road is not the best time to learn how to install chains on your vehicle. Plan ahead and practice installing them before you need them.

Caltrans will continue to have one-way traffic control on State Route 49 at the Wood Creek Bridge in Jamestown starting Tuesday, February 10, through Thursday, February 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please prepare for traffic delays.

Vehicle crashes into a commercial building on Mono Way when the driver accidentally applies the gas pedal instead of the brakes. Luckily, there were no injuries as a result of this crash. As a reminder, be cautious of your speed and always maintain control of your vehicle.

What is one of the fastest ways to meet a CHP officer? This Mustang driver was in hurry to get somewhere at 131 mph, and this is definitely a fast way to meet an officer. That speed is not only ridiculous but also jeopardizes the safety and lives of everyone else on the road.

Beginning February 3rd, Caltrans will have lane closures in place on State Route 49 from Rawhide Road to 5th Avenue from 8:00am until 4:00pm. The work will conclude on February 5th at 4:00pm. If you are traveling through the area, please keep an eye out for workers.
