Central Indians Boys Basketball Camp coming up July 24-26 at Central main gym which now has air conditioning and much more comfortable in summer months.

Absolutely nothing short of dominant throwing the shot put this season. Adding her first ever state championship to her 5 career state medals. Central’s Makenzie Garr is the Cliff Notes Podcast City Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year! Congratulations Makenzie!!

Just got home from State Track Meet and realized I added the wrong podium presentation. Makenzie’s Shot Put throw today was 13.76m (45’ 1.75”)! Her second best throw of 13.36m also beat the competition.

Great effort today by Zoe Trotter @ZoeTrotter22 at Sectionals. It was a fast 400m today with one of the fastest girls in the nation. Zoe PR’d with a 1:00.35. Although that time doesn’t get you to state, I am proud of you Zoe and appreciate your hard work and dedication. #grit

2nd Place Discus -40.99m (134’ 6”) 1st Place Shot Put - 12.81m (42’ 1/2”)

Makenzie Garr @makkk92 competed at Sectionals earning 1st Place in the Shot Put with a throw of 12.81m (42’ 1/2”) and 2nd Place in the Discus with a throw 40.99m (134’ 6”). She will compete next weekend for State Titles. Discus is 9:30 on Friday and Shot Put is 12:30 on Saturday.

This is not a knock on District 7 but rather a testament to how hard the Throws coaches and Throwers work in District 8. @CoachPeek and his Big Beefer Summer Throws program has big part in advancing the success of the throws in our area. #GripItandRipIt

I am really impressed at how strong our Class 5 District 8 is in the throws. Our District is one of the toughest in the state. District 8 had better marks than District 7 in Discus, Javelin & Shot Put in nearly every event. Here are rank placements heading into Sectionals. (1/2)
