🚨8th Grade School Record Alert!!! 🚨 The 4x400m Relay consisting of Owen Miller, Bryson Ash, Klaytyn Snow, and Elijah Sutton earn 5th place honors at the IESA State Meet while also breaking the school record (AGAIN) this season. These four boys raced in a time of 3:50.23!!

Congratulations to these two fantastic 8th grade boys as we get excited for what next season brings at the high school! #MaroonPride

More about those upcoming 8th grade boys: Elijah Sutton races the 400m at IESA State to a new PR of 54.95 earning him 12th place! Owen Miller sets a new PR as well racing in the 200m. His time of 24.00 earned him the 7th place medal!

Clinton Boys 8th Grade Boys 1600m SMR beats out two teams from the fast heat to sneak in an 8th Place Medal finish at the IESA State Finals! We got some talent moving up to high school next year! Great job, boys!

🚨🚨 STATE QUALIFIER ALERT 🚨🚨 Dyllon Wright is going to the state meet in the 300 Hurdlers! His time of 41.18 earned him 5th place at sectionals and qualifies him!

🚨🚨 STATE QUALIFIER ALERT 🚨🚨 Cayden Bostic (So) is going to return to Charleston in the 3200m run! A time today of 9:42.96 qualifies him the state meet!

🚨🚨 STATE QUALIFIER ALERT x2 🚨🚨 Cash Tanner (So) double qualifies for the state meet in Shot Put with a throw of 15.11m and Discus with a throw of 47.85m! In addition , Cash was the Sectional Champion in Discus! Way to go!!

🚨🚨 STATE QUALIFIER ALERT 🚨🚨. The Clinton boys 4x800m relay takes 4th place with a qualifying time of 8:13.35! Congratulations to Brockton Sumner (So), Justin Droke (Jr), Abel Koritz (Sr), and Nolan Rhodes (Sr)!

We will have a shorter practice tomorrow as we prepare for the sectional meet, then can carpool together to the church if anyone needs a ride. The boys track and field team is incredibly thankful for this love that is being poured out for our athletes! Thank you!

Tomorrow evening (Tuesday 5/19) at 6:00 PM we will have a team spaghetti dinner at the Methodist Church. Their volunteers will be providing the meal along with a devotional during dinner.

**Please note that the original school calendar had listed Monticello for Thursday. This is not accurate, as I am unable to update that information myself. Sectional assignment are often not set until mid-April each season.**

The CJHS 8th grade boys did it AGAIN! The 4x400m Relay is going to state! With a time of 3:54.14 (qualifying time is 3:56.74) these four guys carried the baton to a 2nd place finish! Congratulations to Owen Miller, Elijah Sutton, Klaytyn Snow, and Bryson Ash!

Two members of the 8th Grade Boys SMR State Qualifying Team just qualified in their open events! Elijah Sutton qualifies in the 400m with a PR time of 55.27 (qualifying is 56.20)! Owen Miller qualifies in the 200m with a PR time of 24.45 (qualifying is 24.84)! Great job, boys!

Quick celebration at the IESA 3A Sectional Meet in Tuscola: CJHS 8th Grade Boys have qualified for state in the 1600m Sprint Medley Relay (SMR)! They took 2nd place to a strong Monticello team. Congrats boys and good luck next week at the state finals! 4:06.17!

🚨🚨 SCHOOL RECORD ALERT... AGAIN🚨🚨 Cash Tanner breaks his own record from earlier this season in Discus with a meet winning throw of 48.10m (157'09")! Way to go, Cash!!!

Every record set by this team is incredible! This one just hit me a little harder. Thank you Clinton High School for letting me be your coach. I love this job! ❤️ Let's go, Maroons!!!

I remember being a freshman in Clinton when those 4 seniors set the record at the state meet. I chased the record when I was a senior. We came up short, unfortunately. Now being able to coach these young men to a new record was something magical for me.
