I am pleased to announce Dr. Katie Jenner will continue to lead the Indiana Department of Education and chair the State Board of Education in my administration. Under her leadership, Indiana has seen the largest single year increase in reading proficiency since IREAD testing began in 2013. Dr. Jenner will improve our K-12 education system to support our students by finding their purpose, knowing their value, and understanding the possibilities for their life’s path. With Dr. Jenner, our K-12 education system will continue to transform and ensure all students emerge prepared for a bright future, whether they choose employment, enrollment, or enlistment leading to service.
