Hey folks! Quick heads up on some changes you may start noticing with Smart Doll - and why they’re happening. The situation in the Middle East is disrupting the global supply of oil and oil-derived materials. That includes vinyl (sofubi), plastics for frames and Cortex parts, and even the thinners and paints we use. Some suppliers are now limiting orders, others have raised prices (20–40%), and we’ve been told raw plastic supply is uncertain going forward. Even when materials are available, soft-grade sofubi may not be. A big factor is disruption around the Strait of Hormuz, which a large portion of the world’s oil passes through. When that’s affected, it ripples across everything. We do have material reserves, but they won’t last indefinitely - so we’re making changes now to stay sustainable rather than waiting until it’s too late. Key changes: Focusing on core skin tones (Coffee, Tea, Cinnamon) Prioritizing the Classic body Adjusting Pear body pricing to keep it in production Pausing new soft-grade option parts (using existing stock instead) Head cap colors may vary Moving toward a universal spine color (orange) We’re not winding down - we’re adapting so we can keep going. It does feel a bit post-apocalyptic at times - albeit one where we’re still making dolls that some might consider non-essential. Hey Folks! I’ve been revamping the welcome page for first-time Smart Doll owners and trying something new - embedded looping videos to show how to remove parts (arms, head, etc). It’s still a WIP, so I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know if anything feels off, missing, or if there’s anything you’d add - and in particular if the videos aren’t playing properly. I’m currently revamping the Smart Doll one-pager and would love your honest feedback. Now that many of you have one, how has your experience been so far? I’m especially interested in hearing both the good and the not-so-good - things you enjoy, as well as anything that caught you off guard or didn’t quite meet expectations (for example things like customization options, skin tone availability, checkout process, etc). If you’d like to share, it would also be helpful to know how long you’ve been into Smart Doll. Like with the Peach Body feedback, the goal is to summarize your input and share it with potential customers so they can get a clearer picture and make an informed decision. #smartdoll

@SmartdollLand I really like the peach body, sure it takes patience to dress and some shoes don't fit, but the flexibility makes up for those minor issues. Maintenance is key, apply heat to parts that look deformed and check the vinyl is sitting in the correct places every time you redress.

I’m in the middle of revamping the product page for the Peach Body. Now that many of you have one, I’d love to hear about your experience with them. The Peach Body has a wider range of motion thanks to the soft-grade sofubi, but I want to make sure we’re also clearly communicating the trade-offs. For example, the torso can compress at the hips, which may create a visible gap when the thighs are brought up toward the chest. If you’ve spent time with them, please share both the pros and cons so we can set proper expectations for future customers and help them make an informed decision. This photo shows the Peach Body in cinnamon (soft-grade sofubi) alongside the default body in coffee. As you can see, the default doesn’t give way at all, so the legs stay straight - still a cute pose though :-) #smartdoll

@SmartdollLand Iron on stars sounds perfect. Fully customisable that way. Love the beret but the cap is equally awesome.

Hmmm, a skull version sounds good for customization too! Just an idea, but how about a pack of six separately-sold stars that you can iron on yourself - in these colors :-) You can iron your fave color on the hat - or iron them all on your Smarties jeans or jacket etc.

@SmartdollLand Both are stunning but because I have Legion and many other characters on G07, I am waiting for the G16 sculpts now. Every little difference makes me very happy.

Instead of moving forward with the G12 sculpt, we decided to take the time to refine it further. The result is G16 - featuring more defined lips and a slightly higher nose bridge. These are subtle adjustments, but they bring better cohesion between the eyes, nose and mouth, creating a more balanced overall expression. In the comparison photos, both dolls feature the same Legion design. On the left is G07 with the emerald wig, and on the right is G16 with the blue metal wig. The differences are nuanced, yet the overall vibe feels quite distinct. Which version of Legion do you prefer - G07 or the new G16? #smartdoll
