@mekanicus @GarethCliff Apparently so. However, we dont hear so much about it anymore as ARVs from USA have been keeping people alive for longer. But maybe we should forgo ARVs and let HIV run its coarse. Its not like anyone does anything to prevent new infections. No condoms being used.

@MarkSham True this, however I have (twice) walked into large shoe store outlets and negotiated a 10% discount, and got it! We as the consumer are too conditioned not to ask, I however, am cheeky! 🤣 But yes, as a Pro Speaker, have also been offered exposure as 'payment'. 🙄

Big corporates in South Africa are a mess 🤣 There are exceptions but my favourite is when the big guys call us to negotiate our price as a small business. Have you ever walked into a retail store and tried to negotiate price? These people would think you’re insane but at the same time, these big companies don’t want to pay the market rate advertised by a small business because of their self-declared budget. They literally made this number up and now it's your problem. Again, imagine walking into a cosmetics store and telling them you only have budget for 50% of the advertised price? Imagine throwing your toys out the cot when you don't get your way? Guys, I literally deal with this on a daily basis. As a thought experiment, I would LOVE to see how these employees of big companies would deal with starting and running their own business. I'm telling you, they wouldn't last 6 weeks 🤣

I've definitely found one of the BEST Neapolitan style pizzas in Cape Town 🍕 As a pizza aficionado, I don't say this lightly. I'd like to introduce you to Lievita in Greenpoint. It was my brother's birthday yesterday and he felt like pizza so I brought him to Lievita. I've been here a few times now and I've only had great experiences! I ordered the "Diavola" which is basically a Margherita with spicy salami and my brother ordered the "Burrata" pizza. We were both blown away by the quality. They use real fior di latte mozzarella and you get that classic blistered crust from their imported “Fazzone” oven. The staff were incredibly friendly and the only reason the place was a touch empty was because we got there really early and most people were sitting outside because of the heat. Apparently Lievita has only been open for around six months so I expect this place to blow up in popularity in the coming months. It's located right next to the Padel courts in Greenpoint which gives it high visibility and I'm calling this place an absolute MUST VISIT. I'm telling you... Lievita is the real deal. There isn't a single aspect of this pizza that I can fault and I can see myself spending my kids' college fund every time I'm in Cape Town 🤣 PS. We paid for our meal and they had no clue I was going to write this post. I think excellence deserves to be celebrated so if you're feeling generous, please help me share this post along so that more people find out about them. They really do deserve the love!
