Last month, the BC Government released the Coroner's Report for the initial half of 2023, highlighting illicit drug trends and toxicity death statistics that occurred throughout the previous year. Here is a brief summary of those facts.

What does this mean? OAT medications are now easily accessible for those in BC with an active medical services plan (MSP)! Why is this important? Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) medication-assisted treatment is a method for those struggling with opioid-use disorder.

Have you heard? Since last month, June 6th, BC has expanded opioid agonist treatment medication (OAT) coverage under their Plan Z universal coverage plan.

On June 17th, 1958, the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge collapsed during construction. The disaster was accredited to poor site conditions and work safety, and the bridge was renamed the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge in commemoration.

June 17th marks the 65th year of the Ironworkers Memorial Disaster, the devastating incident that killed 19 construction workers in British Columbia.

As of April 14th, 2023, the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Dr. Bonnie Henry released a joint statement, declaring British Columbia's seventh-year anniversary on the public health emergency for toxic drug-related overdoses.
