In Unit 2 of CKLA, 5th grade studied Early American Civilizations. The students studied the Maya, Aztec and Inca civilizations. Students researched each civilization. Once the research was completed they published their findings through a Codex Project. @canon_mac @DrTaranto

"Mrs. Grandstaff, can I play a song I wrote?" I exclaimed, "ABSOLUTELY!" with the most enthusiastic smile. The student started to play their composition. Other students in her section wanted to see and hear what she was playing. These are the authentic music moments that matter.

6th grade, Cecil Intermediate math students made a clock where the numbers are replaced with equations! Each student was given a kit to put together a working clock. @CISCMSD @canon_mac

The CIS Blue Band earned a SUPERIOR rating at their adjudication at Duquesne University today, then got to have some fun at Kennywood! Great job to all of the musicians, and thank you to their teacher, Mrs. Grandstaff! @canon_mac @bigmacband
