The amount of water proposed to be used (lost) in Alberta’s west county to stimulate oil wells completed to Duvernay shale is mind boggling. Spartan Delta Corp wants to pump an amount roughly equivalent to water in Sylvan Lake from groundwater over 5 or 6 years. Crazy stuff.

One more layer of dysfunction and corruption in this govt. Smith appointed Yager to the board (who owns his own O&G associated co) then named him her “Special Advisor” when these entities should be arm’s length. Yager has received sole source contracts fr this govt.

Health care and for profit is a very dangerous combination. People invariably die when profits are the main motivator, over patient care.

This govt continues it corruption and its waste of our money right in front of Albertans. The ASG is a private surgical group. Sam Mraiche has shares in their clinics. They lobbied this govt for 2 new clinics, Lethbridge & Red Deer. /1

@WarrenSteinley 1/ This is another lie. Alberta's O&G production is currently about 59% foreign-owned. We have been selling to the USA at a discount, and the claim of prosperity is laughable. O&G companies prosper. Not the rest of us who are left with the bill for their unpaid municipal taxes

@MondoABx Closing supervised consumption sites doesn’t end drug use. It moves it to the streets. No staff. No safety. No second chances. Naloxone doesn’t work if no one is there. This isn’t recovery policy, it’s a death sentence for the most vulnerable.

I have been reporting on and documenting settler terrorism in the West Bank for three years, and I have never seen anything like this. Tonight’s major pogrom across the West Bank was highly organized and fully backed by the Israeli government and the Israeli army. It did not happen in a vacuum -- it was fueled by incitement from Israel’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, and other Israeli Knesset members. If this tells us anything, it is that this is not the peak; it is a warning of something far worse that may soon unfold in the West Bank: Genocide and ethnic cleansing.
