Another terrible tragedy in Western Pennsylvania.

@MartyGriffinKD Marty, it’s the truth. I will take it a step further. Have you seen what ppl buy with food stamps? That should be regulated. It a viscous cycle. Ppl that receive benefits should somehow have to work for it. Whether it’s volunteering or doing work from home.

@MartyGriffinKD They changed the requirements so you literally have to prove you work at least 20 hours in order to receive SNAP benefits. (Unless you are exempt from disability etc.) The people who are losing benefits are literally people who are working but make so little they're in poverty...

That was AWESOME. One of the coolest nights photographing the moon over #Pittsburgh I've ever had. Being over 8.5 miles from downtown the moon was distorted by the atmosphere on the horizon, giving it a shimmering look. Second farthest distance I've ever captured the moon from.

@simonowens When I was in college at OU, I was close friends with one of Wes's SA victims. I'll never forget the moment I overheard another student journalist (who we did not know) warn her friend that Wes was a rapist. We reached out to OU- they still invited him to speak at graduation.

Some of you have noticed that I’ve been uncharacteristically offline. This is why, and I remain on leave for a few weeks to handle a PTSD relapse. @CJR was dogged in its pursuit of my story, and because of what I do and who I am, I felt that I had no choice but answer their questions honestly. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone, but I also believe it was a chance to prove that I mean what I say to the women who have trusted me with theirs. I have to believe that there’s power in telling the truth — and in journalism.
