In other words, all the kvetching about how the ref couldn't possibly see the puck to call it a goal, and how that changed the standards for reviewing it, can quiet down. The NHL ruled it completely crossed the line. Even if the call was "no goal," they'd have overturned it.

@MrGMYT This is like saying it feels bad to kill the final boss of a raid and not have all the gear drop! Why should I have to do it weekly! Waah. I think the issue here is the mentality that you “need” everything. That’s not how the game has ever worked.

Why are people defending the Voidlight Marl grind? I played through the entirety of The War Within and I still need 300k+ Resonance Crystals to purchase everything. Some people did manage it, but that was mainly by running the same world quest every single week across multiple alts. Is that really good game design? I personally don’t think so. It’s even worse in Midnight. If someone wants multiple copies of a cool decor item, it can easily set them back thousands. When people say “you don’t need everything on day one,” they’re missing the point. I’m not asking for it right now. I just don’t want history repeating itself when the grind ahead already looks massive. For some players, collecting is their content, just like dungeons or PvP are for others. It’s completely fair to be concerned when that path starts to feel like an almost impossible task.

@davehall1289 This is the Shane wright, Juraf Slavkosky draft debate over again… maybe the talent isn’t as high, yet the anger over wright not be picked by habs fans at the time… well it aged well. So much unknown.

It’s a fair debate and one that likely goes right to the wire. But based on some of the reactions, I do think a few of you are sleeping on Stenberg’s skill. His offensive creativity isn’t far off, and he plays a complete game. For those saying you can’t win with players like him, I’m not sure you’ve watched him enough (or, at all). If I’m Vancouver, I probably still lean McKenna for many of the reasons mentioned. That said, both have the potential to be excellent players. And let’s be careful speaking in absolutes — none of us know what five years down the road looks like or who WILL be the better player. If the Canucks are fortunate enough to win 1OA and select Stenberg, embrace it. Either way, you’re getting a terrific player.

I’m seeing a lot of sighs at the idea of the Vancouver Canucks potentially having Ivar Stenberg over Gavin McKenna on their draft board. I’m genuinely curious as to why? Is it nationality? Is it projection? Skill set? I think both are incredible players, so just interested to hear.

Still a wait and see. A rebuild needs to happen. Not arguing that. But the players don’t all get traded overnight.

@CJL_33 @Sportsnet @imacSportsnet You really can’t compare anything to the Abs rebuild that was once in a generation type. With a lot of luck. Trade some vets be bad for half a decade ON PURPOSE. Build up the pipeline have a crazy amount of prospects. Rebuilding teams are lapping us. They have a future we don’t.

You still need players in a rebuild… and the cap floor is stupidly high. Teams would still take a shot at demko if they wanted to trade him.

No argument there. Whether its marcus pettersson extension, boeser extension, demko, evander kane, everything is horrible. I want to complain too but idk any solution other than drafting super well next year and competing in 1-2 years with Medvedev, Cootes, Stenberg/Mckenna, Rossi, Ohgren, Lekkerimaki, Buium, Willander all ready to play

@Kuzmister @Sportsnet @imacSportsnet They’ve traded jt miller and Quinn Hughes. They’ll trade Sherwood. Teams still need players. Look at the avalanche rebuild. They traded duschene and Reilly but kept landeskog and MacKinnon (before he even broke out) there is still a cap floor… rebuild is about patience.

Don't blame Quinn Hughes. The Canucks got the best player in franchise history in the draft and never built winning teams around him. He wanted to win here but it just wasn't going to happen and now he is gone.

@MrGMYT Haven't been active with wow for a while, but from what I've seen when it comes to the Haranir it feels like that is time that could be spent on new cool things for existing races. Also I was excited for the housing but microtransaction stuff I've seen feels questionable. /1

Tough hit for Chytil to take, but the legality seems to boil down to this: if this is NOT interference then there is no penalty, if it IS late and interference then it should have been 5 and a game and maybe supplemental discipline
