Judge Hidalgo is leading the Houston delegation’s efforts to leverage sports diplomacy to increase Harris County’s profile on the global stage ahead of FIFA World Cup 26™. During the trade mission in Frankfurt, Judge Hidalgo and the delegation met with leaders from the DFB German National Football Team at a sports investment summit to highlight Harris County and the U.S. as a prime market for soccer growth, sponsorships, and rising young talent.

On the last day of Black History Month, Judge Lina Hidalgo joined Commissioner Rodney Ellis, community leaders and public health professionals for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Riverside Hospital in Third Ward. Before Riverside was dedicated in 1926, there weren’t any institutions that provided dignified care for Black people in Houston. Today, the Riverside Health Hub is a testament to what the county can do for the next generation of people in Harris County.

Judge Lina Hidalgo welcomed Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials to NRG Stadium with a hat toss to rodeo officials. Judge Hidalgo also viewed the laying of the dirt in NRG Stadium as crews prepared the grounds.
