Also seeing a lot of action from the Vokey T-Grind this week, which is no surprise given its popularity on Tour, but the 2022 Open Championship at a burnt out St. Andrews is actually where the current run of T-Grind dominance started. “There’s this trend at this event with these conditions where a T-Grind really outperforms most of the other grinds we make, just due to how it’s made and what it does," Vokey Wedge Rep Aaron Dill said then. "The rear section of the sole of the T grind is the lowest rear section we make, meaning when he opens up the face of the wedge, it sits as close to the ground as anything that we build in the Vokey line. So for guys to say, ‘This one fits me the best here,’ it makes a lot of sense." Some other notable names who are already using the T-Grind include Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Patrick Reed, Min Woo Lee, Fleetwood and more. Of that list, only Thomas is actually contracted to play Vokey wedges, which led the lob, sand and gap wedge count this week with 235 in play, 52 percent of the field.

Looks like Rory McIlroy is playing a TaylorMade MG4 lob wedge this week that I understand has a little less bounce than his regular MG5. Not sure if this is the same wedge he used at the Scottish and Portrush last year, but reducing bounce is nothing new for players headed for links golf. He also added his P760 3-iron to the bag in place of his 5-wood.

Such a helpful visual, also why I carry a mix of bounces here in the Midwest. (I still suck)
