@CJTucker84 @_SextonRay In parishes all around the world, Lay Romanists do not take the cup. Previously to Vatican II, that was universal. The parish in both my hometown and my college town do not offer the cup to the laity. If you do not take the blood, then you are not doing the Eucharist as commanded

Catholics have the Sacraments.
Lutherans have the Word and the Sacraments.
You need both.

@Gastrone2 @LighttheFireIAu Sorta, but the vast majority are in the Latin Rite, they all submit to papal authority, and share almost the exact same theology. So there are many little Orthodox Catholic "denominations", but they don't have nearly the amount of variance between them as protestants do.

The real reason Prots are crashing out on the Orthobros is they are finally noticing the bleed. Roman Catholicism is no longer their biggest threat. They know they can’t debate these topics so If they can’t debate, then they destroy our character. I’ve seen all the anti Catholic stuff for the longest time, but the ramp up of anti Orthodox content I think is unprecedented. America will become Orthodox.

Of all the things I’ve said in defense of unpopular Catholic moral teachings over the years – on abortion, sexuality, social doctrine, or what have you – I don’t think anything has generated more undiluted hostility and unreasoning, spittle-flecked rage than what I’ve said against intentionally killing civilians and obliterating civilian infrastructure during wartime. It is truly extraordinary. I never would have guessed it. Make of it what you will.

One of the few areas where I wholeheartedly agree with Eastern Orthodox theologians is the idea of emptying your mind during prayer. I'm the opposite of Ignatius of Loyola. I pray best when my mind is free of imagination and focused on the current moment and the words I'm saying.
