@michaeldyrynda @njames @TeamStyleCI Which is solved by just setting it up in the IDE/editor, and the circle is complete 😛
English

@njames @TeamStyleCI The only downside to CI doing it is people complaining when they try and push and have to first pull because their non-compliance was overridden 🤣
English

I'll add that you should make the process automated; php-cs-fixer via CI or something like @TeamStyleCI to handle it all for you.
Don't rely on IDEs, or for humans to remember. Make it part of automated processes.
Makes reviews easier when bots, not humans, fix style.
Brent@brendt_gd
The only coding style rule you need to follow is to keep whatever style you choose consistent within your team and open source projects. Let phpcsfixer handle the edge cases behind the scenes and share your IDE code style config with your team; done.

@calebporzio If you find any light switches are in unfortunate places (eg behind a couch.. 🤦♂️), smart globes in those fittings are a must.
English

@michaeldyrynda @JacobBennett @christophrumpel If you need a schedule monitoring app, I might know a guy... 😜
English

@JacobBennett @christophrumpel Our recording schedule hasn’t changed in like five years 😅
English

@michaeldyrynda Haven't seen it, but going by comments, the assumption it was the token musical episode looks right.
English

@calebporzio Higher is better, except when it isn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
English

@codebyjeff @AndrewFeeney So true, many occasions I've realised solutions to bugs in the process of explaining them to someone else.
English

@AndrewFeeney "15 Minute Rule" plus rubberduckasaservice.codebyjeff.com
If you have spent 15min focused clearly on the bug, and can't work it out, rubber duck it or ask another person to give you 5min
After 15min people tend to no longer actually see what is front of them; they see a "cached" version

@jesseschutt The common denominator in most of the bugs I encounter is… me 😅
English

@devgummibeer @michaeldyrynda The functions are, but when calling them, their purpose is accessing/mutating database properties, so prefer to call consistently.
English

@CJ_au @michaeldyrynda But accessors and mutators are camel case!? 🤔
English

@jeffrey_way I don’t docblock what I type.
Only really use docblocks with DTOs when I’m doing something like string[] (array of strings)

To celebrate the release of @spatie_be's new debugging tool, Ray, I'm giving away two licenses! All you need to do is retweet this tweet to be in for a chance to win. Competition open until January 12 at 10am ET.

Festivities begin with a Pikes Pale Ale (because my wife's cousin works up there) - it's quite nice and crisp after a warm day paving. #HeapsGoodBeer

@michael_timbs The squeals of delight from the back seats while driving around looking at lights displays last night would be a pretty close second.
English

@michaeldyrynda @ninjaparade One of the first gifts I wrapped for my (now) wife, took her about 30 mins to unwrap.
Yell out if you want some tips 😉
Tractor book though... 🤔
English

@ninjaparade I struggle with square shaped items when it comes to wrapping. Gift bags for all!
English

@michaeldyrynda I'll have a play in Jan, sounds like something someone should experiment with on a staging server... 🤔
English

@CJ_au Sounds like an EntSys problem 🤭 I did try and get Ubuntu in for ease of integration but had to concede. Don’t think OS development was the problem for us though.
English

Anybody got this working on centos, though?
Asking for a friend.

Turning HTML-code or even entire pages into a PDF is incredibly simple using the Browsershot package from @spatie_be. Here is an example from the @addrowio codebase. vanrossum.dev/14-using-brows… #laravel
