Loved spending time with my 2nd graders on zoom today. Show and tell, Raz-kids tutorial, and one of our most favorite gonoodle brain breaks. Happy Friday!

We had an amazing Culture Fest this year! We enjoyed eating foods from all over the world. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and families that sent in delicious food for us to try! Even our our elf, Sprinkles, participated by sending us gingerbread houses!

After reading the African folktale, The Spider Weaver, we learned about the history of Kente cloth. We observed the lines, colors, shapes, and patterns & then created our own Kente inspired cloth. They worked very hard on their intricate designs!

Using tableau to retell and compare & contrast Cinderella stories from both the Native American and African American culture.

Students are creating imaginary places & constructing landform maps using torn art.

Using poetry to create mental images with watercolors!

Using text clues and schema to infer the meaning of these poems. Discussed our interpretations to dramatize the poems!

Keonna is rockin’ it class 2B. She has such a sweet, caring heart and makes our classroom a better place. I can always count on Keonna to aim for her personal best and work hard!

We are so lucky to have such a kind friend in class 2B! Elle works hard every day to SOAR. She is laser eye focused in the classroom, and she is always willing to help others around her. So grateful for her caring heart! #foreverFORWARDatNCCA

Gabriella Williams is a star in second grade! She brings a smile and a great attitude to class 2B every day! I can count on her to listen, focus, and participate successfully. She is a joy to have in class!

All of our hard work finally paid off! We are celebrating and sharing our animal research projects!

After comparing and contrasting quadrilaterals & polygons, we observed Wassily Kandinsky’s paintings. He used geometric shapes to create abstract artwork. These kiddos were very excited to use what they know to create Kandinsky influenced paintings! #love@ncca
