Tenebrous is 2 lunatics on opposite sides of the globe. Thx to the blessings of our combined neuroses, it's easy to forget that, despite our refusal to chase names & trends, despite our ltd resources...we kick a ton of ass. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves. This is 2024🖤☠️

@oldcanadaseries From what I've read, they were hanged simultaneously, standing back-to-back. I've always wondered if they held each other's hand.

Arthur Lucas, left, and Ronald Turpin were the last two people to be put to death in Canada after being found guilty of separate murders. They were hanged 58 years ago, on Dec. 11, 1962 at the Don Jail in Toronto.

@Morgan_C_Ross There's now housing on the part of the school yard where this scene was shot. I sometimes wonder if the people living there ever watch the movie, and when this part comes on, do they know they're looking at where their house now sits.

Enjoyed listening to St. Catharines author Lori Littleton read from her novel IN REPAIR at the local chocolate shop. Hard to think of a more aromatic venue.

Hiked down to Port Dalhousie this afternoon, which felt more desolate than it did during the summer.

I'm sure Aaron Lebold would agree the events of BORN SICK are revolting and depraved. What interested me the most in this book is how wholesomely self-assured the main characters are in their depravity, like monsters escaped from a John Waters movie.

Going through the newspaper archives, I was delighted to find this photo of the late, great Hannelore Headley from October 1994. I miss the magical splendor of her over-stocked bookstore. I can't begin to count how many books in my collection came from her shop.

While I certainly don't condone the activities of the main character in Felix I.D. Dimaro's HUMANE SACRIFICE, as a cat person, I understand.

I love how LING HUN by Ai Jiang throws you headfirst into its world, letting you figure out its rules and social norms as you go along. And as housing becomes unattainable for more and more of us, I worry about how prophetic the horrifying auction chapter might be.

What I loved about THE MOUTH IS A COVEN by @LizWorthTarot are the rich details about spells and ghosts, filling every location with magic, dread, and sadness. The hapless vampires remind me of the kids in RIVER'S EDGE, and there is a thrillingly sinister sequence involving birds.

Enjoyed reading @C_Laforet 's new collection, which evokes the vibe of the horror comics of my youth. I like anthologies with a mix of styles, and THE ROOTS RUN DEEP doesn't disappoint, including stories with elements of crime, sci-fi, humor, & general what-the-fuck-?-ness.
