Fernando Mendoza grew up about a mile from University of Miami's campus. His dad and the U's Head Coach, Mario Cristobal, were teammates in high school. It was at that same school, Christopher Columbus High School, where Fernando led his team to a state championship.

Today is often one of the more unforgettable and exciting moments in their athletic journey; I share in that excitement and I'm so proud of each of them, honored that I had the opportunity to guide and support them each step of the way.
