Citing energy costs - we urgently need action from suppliers, the regulator and government to avoid good businesses failing

We are loosing on a daily basis, many pubs, bars, restaurants, live music venues, nightclubs etc, all due to unsustainable energy costs. Myself, @UKHospKate @UKHofficial @wearethentia are working collaboratively with legals to help save the sector.

Absolutely staggering. Welsh Government have let businesses down. This money would have saved many that have been closed for good. And helped many more through unnecessary hardship; imposed by @WelshGovernment own restrictions.

When so many tourism and hospitality businesses and those who work in the sector were struggling to survive Covid lockdowns, it is beyond belief that the Welsh Government effectively denied them support bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-…

Brexit Pubs Guarantee - Chancellor increases lower duty rate for beer sold in pubs. An 11p differential - need to see full duty rates post August to understand % difference but substantially higher than previously announced.

Energy costs should not be the reason good, robust, world class businesses fail - but they are increasingly the single determining factor and we need action in this weeks budget ahead of 1 April change in support

It was great to come together at the Welsh Senedd Tourism Cross Party Group meeting this week under the guidance of Chair @SamRowlands_. Members once more spoke with representatives from the industry, particularly UKH Cymru, about significant issues.
