We are pleased to have handed over the latest addition to the city of Swansea, with the new community hub (Y Storfa) now open to the public. CMB carried out the £5.3 Million M&E contract on the project and handed the building over to a satisfied client at the end of 2025. The EFL sends its warm congratulations to all those that have been recognised for their contributions to the game in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours list. Cardiff City Director Steve Borley has been awarded an OBE for services to the Welsh economy across engineering, construction and sports participation. Other awards include a BEM for Jason Land, Disability and Inclusion Lead at Grimsby Town Foundation, for his service to the community in Grimsby, and MBEs for former EFL players Lee Carsley, Tony Whelan and Lou Macari.

In September 2023, CMB started work on the M&E contract for HiVE – a new multi-million-pound High Value Engineering educational facility being undertaken by ISG in Ebbw Vale. However, with news of ISG’s administration in September 2024, followed by several months of uncertainty surrounding the future of the project, CMB stepped in as Principal Contractor to see through the project to the end. This ensured the continuation of the contracts for 173 staff, 39 subcontractors, as well as additional funders and stakeholders, all involved across the scope of the project. We are delighted to now see this educational facility fully operational and inspiring the next generation of STEM talent.
