CMPD is committed to strengthening support for our 911 call‑takers and dispatchers and enhancing their overall job satisfaction and work‑life balance. To continue investing in our telecommunications team, we’ve implemented several initiatives, including:
· A new Telecommunicator Trainee role designed to provide career progression opportunities
· An increase in the time a trainee can remain in the 911 call-taker role before moving to dispatch
· 5% pay increase when moving from Telecommunicator Trainee to Telecommunicator I
· 10% pay increase after two years in dispatch when moving from Telecommunicator I to II
· 5% incentive for Telecommunicator IIs with two-plus years in dispatch who elect to become trainers
· A shift from five eight-hour days to four 10-hour days for better work-life balance
