This chapter is finally published! The most personal piece of academic text I have written so far, where I accounted for my identities and how I have been denied some parts of my cultural heritage for decades.

Bookbird’s final issue of 2023 is finally out. The three of us, who had worked on the short bios, hope that you will enjoy this.

An old colleague who used to closely collaborate with me is posting a tutorial to write children’s book using AI. I am losing my trust.

The special Bookbird issue on War and Displacement in Children's Literature is now out. I would like to thank my co-editor, @drswietlicki, for this. I really like the seemingly peaceful cover in contrast to the theme. Here's hoping that children of the future will know peace.

Riyoko Ikeda is back! This time she is telling the history of Poland!!!

Editing the articles for ”War and Displacement” issue made me cry. The longing for home and displaced feeling, despite being written in academic style, still manage to echo with my own experience. The longing for what was home, but at the same time, knowing that is now unsafe.

Who would’ve thought that I would hear a presentation about a/r/tography in a children’s literature conference? And that there were THREE a/r/tographers present at that conference? It’s a start of an a/r/tography network within children’s literature!!

No rest for the wicked! I have just finished a planning meeting for yet another special @IBBYBookbird issue in 2024. We will have a special issue for Italian Children's Literature! A detailed Call for Papers will be announced at the end of May! Anyone interested? :D

journals.uio.no/adnorden/artic… It is always nice to go back and develop the concept of "playworld" in children's literature and reading. I owe it to @macgarciag and @Justyna0676 's recent work on childism in children's literature to push me into working more on this.
