Dimitri Soibel: "As you mentioned, Michael Olise is known as a very quiet and private person. Protecting his privacy is extremely important to him, so he has not commented publicly on this matter. However, we were told by people close to him that he did acknowledge paternity. We also heard that the DNA test was something he himself wanted to have carried out. In other words, it was his intention to establish paternity through testing, and the result confirmed that he is the father. The dispute now revolves around child support payments. We have two very different versions of events. The mother claims that no money has been paid to this day. Their daughter is now 20 months old, and the family has been living in modest circumstances in Düsseldorf. According to her, she was initially offered €836 per month in child support. Later, that offer was increased to €2,000 per month. She says she rejected the first offer because it was too low. She also says that when she later agreed to the €2,000 offer, the payments still were never made. It doesn't address situations involving millionaires, so it provides no clear guidance on how much someone with that level of wealth should pay. So the question now is what is an appropriate amount in this particular case. We know that the child's mother previously filed a lawsuit against Olise in France, where she was seeking €60,000 per month in child support. However, the French court ruled that it did not have jurisdiction over the case, so there was no judgment on the merits, only a dismissal on jurisdictional grounds. I also spoke with family law specialists in Germany about the matter. They explained that the Düsseldorf Table serves as a guideline rather than a strict rule. It provides a reference point for determining appropriate child support. At the same time, there is a general legal principle in Germany that the child of a millionaire should be able to share in the father's standard of living. In practical terms, that could mean, for example, that the child should be able to attend a private school instead of a public one. So the potential financial expectations in a case like this can be significantly higher than they would be for someone with an average income." • What happens next in this case? What are the next steps that will probably happen? Dimitri Soibel: "It's difficult to say because this dispute has already been dragging on for about two years. There has been no agreement so far, and at the moment there doesn't appear to be one in sight. So it's still an open case. We simply can't say what will happen next.
