To those thinking of moving to Japan, let me be honest with you. On the train, we don't talk on the phone. In a quiet street, we don't shout. At a restaurant, we wait in line — even when no one is watching. We bow to strangers. We pay before we receive. We apologize before we explain. These aren't rules. There's no law for any of them. They are just 1,500 years of small daily promises we keep, without being asked. If you can love that, you will love Japan. And Japan will love you back. If you can't, please — think it through carefully. For your sake, and ours. 🇯🇵

@RijhwaniSheetal Reminds me of a family I know. Her sons used her for babysitting but often didn't even send her a card on Mother's Day. I don't know if their neglect was relevant to her death & the horrible circumstances surrounding it. Are there no men with heroic, protective natures anymore?

There’s a lady in my neighborhood, probably around 62, who lives alone. She has three sons. One is married with kids, one is divorced and the third is unmarried. All three have separate houses now, but none of them keep her with them. And the strange part is…she never complains about her children. Whenever someone asks, she just says, they have their own lives. I like living alone. I’m more comfortable by myself. Yesterday she got sick, and none of her sons came to see her. Another neighbor took her to the hospital. She has knee pain, cooks alone, eats alone, travels alone… and still never says a single bad thing about her children. Sometimes I think people are wrong when they say, Have children so you won’t be alone in old age. Life doesn’t work that predictably anymore. Maybe we should all learn how to spend time alone, live alone and emotionally survive alone without expecting too much from anyone. Otherwise later in life, reality can hit very hard.

My Marinella lost her foal three weeks ago now. Unfortunately, even the vet couldn't save him, he was born after a long labor, with no life. I felt all her pain and it was a really sad moment. Her care was these puppies, she adopted them and loves spending time cuddling and getting their tail bitten. Being able to witness these moments is the biggest blessing I have ♥️

@Hombrelmparable How strange. I perceived it as the opposite. Women enjoy just being alive. I thought men had a tendency to focus on women and control.

Pasan horas. Perfecto. Ser hombre es imbatible.

Disastrous election for Starmer, so he doubles down with No Jury Trials, Digital ID and other measures not wanted by citizens. Is making the populace miserable a political strategy? It all seems quite 'nya nya, nardle, nardle'.

Beware, algorithms record everything you do and label you. Even though Likes are private, what you like is recorded. I am a very curious person (family trait). I will sometimes read material I disagree with. These days you need horse blinders. share.google/aimode/n79DIpu…

@PhilSledge Yes. Dogs are not public property. Also, some dogs might be snappy. I am dismayed by those who just reach out and touch your dog's head. That's intimidating for a dog.

Mother’s love brings down state’s biggest puppy mill. In rural Missouri. Drivers kept calling about an Australian Shepherd sprinting down the highway like she was chasing something. Animal control tried to stop her, but every time they got close, she broke away and kept running. After nearly 20 miles, they realized she wasn’t chasing traffic. She was chasing one white van. When that van finally stopped, the dog ran straight to the back doors and started jumping, crying, and clawing like her life depended on it. Officers searched it and found cages stacked inside, packed with Australian Shepherd puppies. Some of them were hers. Investigators believe she had escaped the puppy mill and chased the van down herself, leading police back to the property where dozens more dogs were rescued and one of the state’s biggest illegal puppy rings was shut down. She didn’t know she was exposing a crime. She just knew her babies were in that van.

2,000 beagles survived hell at Ridglan Farms. Eyes removed, vocal cords cut, unimaginable cruelty. They were rescued and 8 of them were brought to WNY to find their forever homes. I will fight to END taxpayer-funded animal testing on dogs and cats. See the saved dogs here ⬇️

I think life can be a rocky road and we lose touch with friends because we worry about our own problems. When you are a child and teen/20s, friendships are so simple. We're all on the same page. Later we concern ourselves with measuring up, with resentments, etc. Important to train the mind to stay positive.
