Depends on the guy. One guy I know could scarcely be called "red pilled" if you knew his political opinions, but he's absolutely a misogynist. He's in hus mid 40's, never had a job, lives at home with his mom (detached building from main house, pretty wealthy family). He knows why he's unattractive to most women, but he also doesn't think it makes sense. His initial view of dating was that there were female "equivalents" to him, living at home, not motivated, etc. He was very upset that women tend to date "up". He's a pretty realistic and self aware dude, like he understands why anyone would take the better option if presented with it, but knowing that doesn't solve his dilemma.

I'm in my last semester of classes finishing my BS at 43. According to some people, I will be at a baseline level of 'smart' in two months. If I were to stop right now, I would be considered a college dropout, and considered 'too dumb for college'. It's that arbitrary.
