All week, we have been conducting research and debating their bills in Committees in the House of Representatives. Today, the bills that survived committee were debated on the floor. We passed one bill, which will be sent to the Senate on Monday!

Just how hard was it for Americans to handle rationing during WW2? Today, students investigated it on their own by planning their meals for their family using prices and ration stamps from the 40s! @teachingmuseum

So much energy and it’s only 9 am?! Students put their acting skills to the test as they turned the scene they’d just read in A Wish in the Dark into a tableau! What a fun way to check for student understanding of perspective.

All historians are also expert readers! Students combined their skills at breaking down challenging texts and understanding poetry to analyze poems written by American and Japanese soldiers in the Pacific Theater. They were excited to see and understand the differences in POV!

There is no joy more pure than winning the Bear Paw competition! I’m so proud of my bears 🐻

Every now and then, I read a book and think, “This MUST be in my classroom library.” What a profound message for young readers. Thank you, @AlgonquinYR for working to bring this book to English speakers. It is such a gift.
