After months of estate proceedings, our Project Catalyst Grants in Fund 12 and Fund 13 have been re-assigned after the passing of our founder Sean Davies. The estate proceedings as a whole are coming to a close now in the month of April as we finalize a few key fronts, but expect The Working Dead to resume the momentum we had in December of last year. While we shall forever miss our founder - who truly was just a remarkable human being - we continue on in his honor. Though tedious, The Working Dead wants to thank the Project Catalyst Team and specifically @dannyribar for his leadership throughout this process. We thank them for their grace, and are grateful they made the right decision. The Working Dead lives on!

Sean's legacy lives on through the work we do. His vision remains stronger than ever before. This is just one small step in honoring the great man he was, with so many more to come this year.

Despite the tragic loss of our beloved founder, his mission and vision lives on through our continued work. On this note, we are humbled and proud to announce that we have submitted our Proof-of-Achievement for Milestone Four of Fund 12, nearing the end of our first Proposal!

💝Sean Davies Memorial Fundraiser💝 A special thank you to all of you who have been donating to the Davies Family by minting the Tribute Collection. Each mint serves as one donation, and 100% of the proceeds will be directed to the Davies Family.❣️ Proceeds will be used to pay for Sean's memorial and estate costs as well as help pay for the Davies family to take a trip to Thailand where Sean had dreamed of living in. Sean was an amazing human being who made an impact on the world in so many ways, and this is our way of trying to pay him back for his tireless dedication. Sean never profited from the business, reinvesting all the funds into his vision to revolutionize the world for the better. If you have the funds, please consider donating by minting a few beautiful Tribute NFTs. ❣️If you also can support this cause by Retweeting or Quote Tweeting, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

Life has a way of testing your strength when you least expect it. Two months ago, I lost my Deda - my grandfather, my mentor, my best friend. The man who journeyed from a Serbian village to build an American dream. The man I lived with for three years, protecting him when others tried to take advantage, learning every detail of the business he built from nothing. I was 17 when I first stepped up to help save him from those who would exploit him. Even when people told me to stop making those long commutes to Chicago, I knew what mattered most. Now, just as I'm trying to process this horrific loss, trying to honor his legacy and manage the real estate empire he built, I've lost Sean too. At just 26, with so much life ahead of him, Sean was more than just my partner in this ecosystem - he was proof that you could succeed while keeping your soul intact. He was one of my greatest friends. Sean was a genuinely great figure, a true man of integrity and character. He was so talented and resilient. He inspired me and taught me so much in the last year we got know each other. He showed me the power of just showing up even when all seemed lost or the world was against you. He showed me the beauty of acting with honesty despite being in an industry with an abundance of deceit. Sean was a kind man. A great man. He was a great friend. A great leader. A great developer. When so many people would have given up or turned to the dark side of what this industry offers, Sean stayed committed to his character and persevered through so many obstacles. It breaks my heart to hear of his passing. A man so young, so full of promise; ready to finally realize the hard work he had put in for years. For it to be taken from him before he truly got to enjoy this project's success is such a tragedy. To lose a best friend like this is so devastating. It's a different world now where I no longer talk to him every day as we meticulously carry out the vision for the future. The long conversations about how excited we were for 2025. For Fund 12. For Fund 13. For the partnerships, for the success. In the span of two months, I've been called to step into shoes that feel impossibly large to fill. Some might see this as cruel timing, but I've come to see it differently. This isn't about me - it's about something bigger. When my Deda came to this country, he didn't have anything but faith and determination. He built something from nothing, not just for himself, but for our family, for our community. Sean had that same spirit - building not for glory, but to create something meaningful that would help others learn and grow. I believe God doesn't give you challenges you can't handle, even when they come all at once. These losses have shaken me to my core, but they've also shown me something about strength I never knew I had. Not my strength - but the strength that comes from having a greater purpose than yourself. I never wanted to take over this soon. I was still learning, still growing under both their guidance. But life doesn't wait until you're ready. Sometimes it throws you into the deep end and you have to find your way to shore. Sean, like my Deda, believed in doing things the right way, no matter how hard. They both taught me that true leadership isn't about ego - it's about service. About building something lasting. About helping others rise. So here I stand, carrying their legacies. Not because I think I'm special, but because I've been called to serve. To honor what they built. To carry forward their dreams alongside my own. To prove that their faith in me wasn't misplaced. And I'm not doing it alone. There are so many people in this industry who admired and loved Sean. He leaves a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come. Sean, just like I promised my Deda, I promise you - I'll make you both proud. Not for glory, but because it's what you both deserve. Because some legacies are too important to let fade.

I am so devastated to announce that Sean Davies (@seanworkingdead), the beautiful soul behind The Working Dead and Work Courses; passed away peacefully on Christmas day. We have lost not just a founder or a developer, but a true staple in our community and the entire industry. Despite juggling a full-time job, Sean poured every ounce of energy he had into The Working Dead and Work Courses. When others might have given up facing the obstacles that came our way, Sean's response was always the same - a warm smile and an unwavering determination to push forward. "We'll figure it out," he'd say, and somehow, he always did. In recent months, Sean and the team were on the verge of bringing some of his most ambitious visions to life. He was so close to seeing his dreams become reality, working tirelessly even when his body was telling him to rest. That was Sean - always putting the community first, always thinking about how he could help others succeed. The hardest part of writing this isn't just sharing the news of his passing - it's knowing that so many of you never got to see the full scope of his genius. Sean was the kind of person who would solve complex problems behind the scenes without ever seeking credit. His humility was as remarkable as his talent. The countless hours maintaining the site without any recognition. It's not only that, it is the difficult reality that Sean will never get to enjoy the fruits from trees of which he planted. Sean was a man of true character with his tireless work ethic and ironclad integrity. He persevered through so many of Life's challenges when 99% of founders would have packed up and abandoned their dreams. Sean never gave up and embodied a fighting spirit like none other, to show up each day even when at times, all seemed lost. I know many of you are wondering about the future of the projects Sean held so dear. While my heart aches to even discuss these matters so soon, I know Sean would want us to ensure that his vision continues to touch lives. As CEO for the past year, I've worked side by side with Sean, understanding not just his technical architecture but his hopes and dreams for these platforms. While I can never replace Sean, I will serve as his successor as the most capable and knowledgeable individual of the operations behind TWD and Work Courses. We've brought on board developers who worked closely with Sean and shared his vision - people he trusted and respected. Rod will continue Sean's passion for education, and Acid remains with us in his advisory capacity. Danny, who spent countless hours with Sean discussing his technical vision, will step in as acting CTO while we thoughtfully search for someone who can honor Sean's technical legacy. I am very grateful to see our entire team united in this mission to preserve Sean's story. I want to also state for your ease of mind that we're handling the practical matters - transferring assets, securing accounts, and continuing our Catalyst Proposals. But more importantly, we're committed to preserving something far more precious: Sean's spirit of innovation, his unwavering ethical compass, and his genuine desire to make the Cardano ecosystem a better place for everyone. His legacy is embedded into The Working Dead and Work Courses, and his story; our story, shall not end here. To Sean's family - words cannot express our sorrow. Please know that your son, brother, and friend touched so many lives in ways that will ripple through our community for years to come. To our community - thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this profound loss. Sean wasn't just our founder; he was our friend, our mentor, our inspiration. We'll miss his late-night messages full of exciting new ideas, his patient explanations of complex concepts, and most of all, his kind and generous heart. Sean believed in the power of community to change lives. In his memory, let's come together and continue building the future he envisioned - one where technology serves humanity, where education knows no bounds, and where ethical leadership lights the way forward. Rest in peace, Sean. You weren't just a great man - you were an extraordinary human being who made this world a better place. We'll make you proud. I ask you personally to please provide the family some privacy at this very tragic moment in their lives to allow them to grieve. We will be hosting a Twitter Space tomorrow for the community to join in Honor of Sean to allow every one a chance to showcase what a great man he was. I invite each and every one of you to join me and the rest of the team. Moreover, I imagine many of you have questions, and rightfully so. I and the rest of the team will make ourselves available in DMs, Support Tickets, or Discord to ensure full transparency during this process before the Space tomorrow. Rest assured, this is not the end of The Working Dead and Work Courses. Despite this utterly tragic news, Sean knew better than any one that the future has never looked brighter for our ecosystem. It will be a challenging time as we mourn the loss of such a great man, but in his name, we will strive towards that better future. The entire Cardano ecosystem and Cryptocurrency Industry lost a genuinely amazing soul who would have revolutionized the space so much more than he already had. Rest in Peace Sean, we thank you for everything you have done and for the amazing human being you were. The world isn't the same without your presence. But the world has changed for the better because of the legacy you leave behind. ❤️ Thank you my friend, for everything you did for this project. For this community. For this team. And for me. where do i even begin, @seanworkingdead 💔 the web3 ecosystem lost a true builder with you gone brother, daily life in crypto just isnt the same without our daily chats. your vision and relentless drive built a solid community in @workingdeadnft and its flagship product @work_courses, your project was funded in not one, but two catalyst funding rounds, you worked with one of the 3 founding entities of cardano with the cardano foundation for aiken education! your life may have ended shorter than expected but the team that you curated all joined because we believed in the vision you showed us, and in that, we will see to it that your visiom becomes reality. there were many occasions you were fucked over but you never once let this space and how it works corrupt the man you were, few can say that. keeping your family in my prayers right now. i will be travelling to bid you a final farewell when its time, devastated that the first i come to visit you is under these circumstances, im really gonna miss you brother.
