I'm an Asian woman, 35, born & live in London. Most of my life, no problems. Last year, in central with my family. Suddenly lots of police. One of them advised we find different route because "there's a demo and some people who might be violent towards us". He was very nice but the implication was clear: the colour of our skin represents a genuine threat to our safety. We had to walk a 15 minute detour. I don't begrudge the officer. He was good to warn us. I don't begrudge the detour either 😅 I begrudge the knuckle scraping thugs who created a situation where my daily life has to change purely based on my ethnicity. I'm from East London. Nothing wrong with Tower Hamlets imho ❤️

Gukesh-Sindarov will be an epic clash. The youngest ever for the biggest Title in chess. Two amazing players. Two real fighters. Courageous. Energetic. Determined. Composed. Both rely heavily on their outstanding calculation ability. But there are significant differences of course. And the one who brings the betrer version of himself for the Match will prevail. In the coming week FIDE will be busy reviewing the options for the location. Dates are set at the end of November - first half of December. Question for the fans: Of course, India and/or Uzbekistan are two logical options. But if not there, where would you see it proper to be hosted?

The match between my fellow Americans @HansMokeNiemann and @awonder676 is very exciting and i love the format, 2 short classical games a day, rated, winner takes it all! The tenacity of Hans is world class, while Awonder , by outplaying him is showing that he is capable of anything. I feel that the fact that it’s played in Paris , somehow brings chess back to the era of Cafe de la Regence , La Bourdonnais , Anderssen and Morphy. In an economy where 30 players are fighting for 10 invitational spots this is a way to go. Bravo!

@HansMokeNiemann 2700 blitz is nuts for a sub 2000. Probably need to find a teenager for that! I’m 2100 blitz and 1700 national.
