Hello, and welcome! I care WAY too much about the enemies of COD Zombies, so I thought it would be fun to make this account. I'll post trivia and theories about them now and then. Maybe I'll break character here and there, but... we'll see...

Wasn't expecting to even get 100 followers tbh, so that's cool. Thanks for following if you have, smelly Zombies posts will continue. For now, here is Paulie Gualtieri:

The Electric Catalyst is a light enemy featured in Black Ops 4's Chaos story maps. Electric Catalysts unleash a sonic blast that temporarily blinds players. Exposure to Prima Materia causes Catalyst enemies and Blightfathers to erupt from standard zombies. #CallofDuty #Zombies

Similar behaviours can be observed with this game's Imperial Japanese Army zombies preforming martial arts while attacking and moving, as well as Nazi zombies goose step marching when walking. These behaviours all stem from the undead's prior experience and training as soldiers.

The Soviet spetsnaz zombies in Black Ops 1 Ascension can actually stumble and sidestep, as well as perform combat rolls when being shot at. This implies that some level of cognitive ability is retained for some individuals post-exposure to Element 115. #CallofDuty #Zombies

Thrashers are covered in vines and fungi, red spikey thorns, and glowing weak points that explode into spores. These spores can also be found all over the map, which can infect and turn zombies into Thrashers. They can also consume and carry around downed players in Co-op.

In an effort to create their own twisted breed of undead super soldier, Division 9 of the Proditione Fracture conducted experiments on the wildlife of Pohnpei Island. One of their resulting abominations was the Thrasher, a mutated zombie/flora/fungi chimera. #CallofDuty #Zombies

@LeeTESFM14 Sorry for the late response, but yeah I can imagine Treyarch had the Syphoncores in mind, or at least I'd like to hope they did. They're way too similar to not have some sort of relation, but I doubt they'll ever elaborate further on either those or the Amalgam unfortunately.

@CODCritters Do you think it could have any correlation to the Syphoncores from Vanguard? It'd be pretty cool to see some sort of connection made between how the magic operates

Doppelghasts actually appear to be capable of harnessing some level of Dark Aether magic. When evolving into an Amalgam, Doppelghasts will pull in other zombies via some sort of blood harnessing ritual, with the bodies amalgamating together. #CallofDuty #Zombies

Cornelius Pernell may have been his mortal name, but that couldn't have encompassed what he would become. The Avogadro was first introduced as a special enemy in Black Ops 2, and would later return in Black Ops 4 as the boss fight for the map Alpha Omega. #CallofDuty #Zombies

@TonyHaleRapt It's probably the case tbh. With him outright merging with electronics/electricity, he either would've taken on a form akin to the Avogadro's, or he probably just wouldn't have a form.

@CODCritters Headcanon Maxis took on a similar form when merging with the tech on Griffin Station , because he learned how to in the Crazy Place :)

After the events of Alpha Omega, Pernell was teleported to the Broken Arrow facility in Hanford, Washington. The version of the Avogadro featured in Black Ops 2's TranZit is a mindless clone created using samples taken from the original Pernell Avogadro while at the Hanford site.

Alpha Omega's Avogadro is the result of Pernell's experimentation with the Elemental Shard and the American Pyramid Device at Camp Edward, which would convert Pernell into a form that he believed would allow him to ascend to Agartha.

Awesome factoid! Project Janus might've possibly maybe potentially sorta (but not at all) had a cloning facility. The consequences of this could be observed when 500,000 Manglers simultaneously fucking descended on Liberty Falls in February of 1991. #CallofDuty #Zombies

This is discussed by Alistair Rhodes in the 9th phonograph cylinder. Although he may be generally speaking about the savage nature of the undead, Alistair's comments regarding direct exposure to raw Prima Materia could provide an explanation as to why some Chaos enemies exist.

Some zombies in Voyage of Despair can actually be seen partially transformed into Catalysts. This was hinting towards the implication that Blightfathers and Catalysts are monstrous evolutionary forms that Prima Materia unsuppresses and draws out. #CallofDuty #Zombies

@TonyHaleRapt I'm itching to find out what syphoning Zykov's essence for the Gorgofex actually did. Do you think he's genuinely dead, or is it a similar case to Zykov consuming Elder God essence where his (and subsequently their) essence is just stored within the Gorgofex?

@CODCritters It'd be awesome if when Group 935 initially took over the village , the Jötnar wasn't present , but then when we kill the Forsaken in Reckoning , Norticus rebirths and his Jötnar follow suit .

The Shadowsmith present in Totenreich appears to be a Jötunn, or a frost giant from Norse mythology. It is more than capable of going toe to toe with Group 935's Riese robots, and is implied to be a major threat or the boss fight for this map. #CallofDuty #Zombies #Totenreich

It can be theorized that both Mega Abominations and Wretchlings work in symbiosis with eachother due to their differences in size and strength. A variant called the Nest Crawler can be found within infested buildings, where a similar relationship can be observed.

Megabombs posses several melee attacks, as well as a charge and a laser attack that can stun players. Megabombs are so large that they cannot fit in most buildings. As such, they can spawn Wretchlings, creatures that bear a striking resemblance to Nova Crawlers, to hunt players.

Mega Abominations are giant Dark Aether creatures introduced in Modern Warfare Zombies. Seemingly being more than double the size of a standard Abomination, "Megabombs" (an alt name given by the game) are the toughest non-boss enemy in Operation Deadbolt. #CallofDuty #Zombies
