Moira has pancreatic cancer, her type is not curable. That is why she’s obsessed with trying to reverse/slow down death, she’s dying and wants to find a cure.
She will never admit it to those not close.

She worked in paediatrics once upon a time. Before she started her science experiments. She started before the omnic crisis and she had to let kids die in order to save other kids due to the lack of ventilators etc.
She dislikes children now because of the trauma.
