A lot of Indian Boxoffice trackers claim 10 crs footfalls of very old Hindi films along with #BaahubaliTheConclusion, and for me except #Baahubali2, I really can't understand the footfalls estimation of those earlier films when they released in one language, population was much less, movie exhibition business was small and overall infrastructure for traveling was minimal. India's population was around 30-33 crs in 1950. Let's see what was India's population during each of these films that have claim 10+ crs footfall, % of population 👉 1957 - 41 crs - #MotherIndia (24%) 👉 1960 - 43 crs - #MughaleAzam (23%) 👉 1975 - 61 crs - #Sholay (16%) 👉 2017 - 136 crs - #Baahubali2 (7%) Of these films, only Baahubali 2 was available in multiple languages where people across so many states watched it, all the other films only released in Hindi when there were hardly many theaters. Do you think those early Hindi films really had 10 crs plus footfalls, saying more than 16% of All India population saw it in Hindi?
