when I first designed the mascot for BULK, nobody asked for it.
nobody was too convinced - it wasn’t part of the roadmap. but i made it anyway: i’ve always loved making something anthropomorphic. hells yea, i did all that 3d modelling & bone rigging just cos i wanted to feel something..
at first, 'BULKIE' snuck into liminal, experimental corners in small doses - the initial transaction loader, old landing page, PnL card
over time, it became emotional architecture built by others. like something intangible has found its way to home. remix as the highest form of flattery
maybe things made with love do tend to find their place.
we've all noticed when things don't look loved: an influencer shilling something just cos its paid, a founder building merely for clout, etc.
all this to say: if you love doing something, do it! even if it makes no sense, even if no one asked. at worst, you fail proudly, with a creation to remember by. at best, you make something that others love enough to make their own.
when you love something, it shows. sincerity is a moat in today's world

bulk is now at 16k followers, and testnet is getting closer day by day. you still have time to pay attention, but let me tell you why I am particularly bullish on them. they are building something novel and new. never been done on solana. they're basically modding the solana validator to facilitate a low latency perps dex. validators are incentivized to run bulk because they'll receive a portion of fees generated by bulk. this will increase the validator revenue by quite a bit and most validators will want to run bulk to get a higher APY for their stakers. not only does this make bulk decentralized but increases the profit margins for solana validators which makes Solana itself more decentralized. bulk will also have gasless orders, partial liquidations and an ask right out of the gate. what a feat. another thing i want to highlight is the founders/team. absolute goats. high integrity and very focused. not afraid to try new things (even if that comes with risks). in an era of copy-paste perps dexes, this is extremely valuable. just from having talked to them, i can most definitely say that they have that sparkle in their eyes. they love what they're doing and won't stop until they win. whatever that may take. i think they will be unstoppable forces in the industry. not only is @bulktrade's design beautiful from an engineering perspective but their branding is also perfectly on point. i love it. i have no idea how i would describe it, but I absolutely love it. i love the little yeti mascot they have, i love the minimalist designs that feel slick and futuristic. it's all great.
