Successful coaches learn to teach not tell. Tellers provide nothing but words and expect things to magically change with announcing the obvious. Teachers help players problem solve together with 2 way communication. Tellers think identifying and saying the problem is the solution. Teachers work with the athletes to help them understand how to fix the issue. If telling worked, non athletes could just tell themselves to be athletes. Teaching requires more planned preparation with understanding of human behavior.

The most important offensive stat is runs scored. Period. It’s hard to watch teams run the bases so bad. Walks, hits, ROE all are irrelevant with bad baserunning. 3 easy ways to improve baserunning today. 1) Get proper primary leads on time prior to the hitter stepping in the box with front foot. Hitter should see lead runner off bag. Especially when a steal is on. 2) 90/10 rule. Advance to next base only if you have 90% chance to succeed. Especially 3rd and Home. 3) Stealing? Bad jump=shut down No lead distance=shut down Safe is always better than out!
